After something like 23 (!) years of knowing each other, something incredible is in the works for this month: I am actually going to meet [personal profile] brinshannara live and in person! She is coming to town for a work thing and this is really going to happen, omgomgomg.

There was this deal that I couldn't refuse... and...

Does anyone want to buy a 15" TiBook, G4, 1GHz processor / 512 MB RAM / 60 GB HD / SuperDrive / Tiger OS?

I love browsing the used CDs at CD World, especially the odds & ends rack. They actually had a copy of The Waltons' Lik My Trakter (which I didn't buy because I already have one) for $2.95. Today, I came away with a cool CD from World Market called World Groove with covers of songs like "Jumpin' Jack Flash" by Ananda Shankar (Indian pop) and "James Bond Theme" by The Surf Champlers (Okinawan pop). The other one was 18 Grooves from&hellip the Wild Side with songs like "Fool's Gold" by the Stone Roses and "All Together Now" by the Farm (songs I became familiar with from Canadian radio from the mid-80s to early 90s). $2.95 a piece!

...and I just saw that Witchblade is available on DVD in July! W00T!

About 5 months ago I got a Sonicare toothbrush. In my last appointment in October, the dental hygienist noted that I had "moderate" amounts of calculus (...still imagining mathematics. Snerk. I am a nerd.).

My dental cleanings are usually a nightmare, and they always end up doing intense scraping, and oftentimes scaling. (Oddly enough, because I've cut so much sugar out of my diet, my mouth pH is basic (as opposed to acidic, not simple), which allows calcium deposits to thrive.)

Anyway, today she was done with the cleaning inside 30 minutes! Very little to pick off. And the hygienist kept saying, "Excellent, excellent, excellent" over and over again. Even the dentist herself was thrilled! (However, my jaw is still a bit sore. Better than usual though!)

So. The Sonicare made a HUGE difference, and she even said I was using it (mostly) correctly. My teeth and gums are healthier, my time in the dental chair was much less like a session with the Grand Inquisitor, and I don't have the screaming muscular headache I usually have from having to open wide and sustain it. WOO HOO! \o/

(No cavities, either! Even better!)

W00T!

1.) Time off approved! Four-day weekend! \o/ I will sleep. But I also have to do my taxes and there are a lot of little things I want to take care of around the house. I will make a list... tomorrow.

2.) Big-time score on the Borders discount rack: "The Morning Star" by Nick Bantock--the only one of the Griffin & Sabine series I didn't actually have--for $2.99! Now my collection is complete. Muahahahaha.

3.) Random playlist shuffle is AWESOME. It's like having my very own radio station where all the music rocks and there are no commercials. :)
