I do NOT do well in the heat.
It's 90°F right now (32.2°C)--which is nothing compared to some places, I grant you--and I feel like I'm positively melting.
I want my 72°F back. I'll even take the rain over this. Bring on the night so I can throw open the windows and pipe the cool air in. I'm sitting here practically in the dark, feeling like a shut-in. :P

I shudder to think how abysmally hot it would be in here if we didn't have the window A/C unit. High predicted to be 100°F again. At 11:24am it's already 85°F; we are just not used to this.
We're going to be outside for a bit helping friends construct a storage shed. Checklist: sunscreen, baseball cap, bottle of water.

What a difference 10°F makes
Jun. 28th, 2006 05:36 pmIt's the PERFECT DAY OUTSIDE. I made the mistake of walking home though, because my allergies are like MUST PRODUCE HISTAMINE! WHEE! And I'm all: nose-blowing.
Feeling better, though still coughing. It's a good thing I wasn't sick enough to really call in. We are so short-handed at work. Three of my team were made supervisors and a bunch of others either have vacation days or are calling in sick. We are so behind! We are awaiting approval for three new team members (to replace the ones we've lost) but it's going to take at least 3 weeks before they're up to speed on everything we do.
Pizza time! Ta.

Woke up this morning sounding like I smoke a pack and a half a day, and feeling slightly woozy. Sad thing is my poor cat Rowan is sneezing and sounds congested too. And they're forecasting a high of 98°F, which I know is peanuts for some of you, but it's also kind of humid, and we don't have A/C. And I feel crappy. Who knows -- there may be a trip to the movies anyway.
Also, note to self: don't take your sinus / allergy meds on an empty stomach, because your stomach does not like it. You should know better.

( Snow!! )
Okay, so not the best pics, but I was limited to what I could do from the front porch. ;) And it'll so be gone by 9am.
ETA: It's snowing again, so I may have to amend my earlier estimate of meltage. They apparently also closed the schools today. For like, a half inch. Sheesh!
