ciroccoj: Going Jesus: Cavalcade of Bad Nativities... and the sequel, It Came Upon A Midnight Weird: Cavalcade of Bad Nativities II (aka electric baby Jesus boogaloo)!
The one that had me laughing so hard I was crying? "King Herod’s always after me lucky charms!" And the Jawa nativity.

Happy New Year!
Dec. 31st, 2006 11:35 amWaiting for the coffee to finish...
Went to see The Pirates of Penzance on Friday--enjoyed it immensely. Richard White as The Pirate King was AMAZING, and Eric Millegan--who knew that voice could come out of that body! It was very cool to see the props that had been constructed right before my eyes up there on the stage. The scrolly thing I painted was only on stage for one number (and only drawn out and opened for about a minute total, and never shown to the audience), but it was cool nonetheless. (It wasn't the February calendar but the small scroll that The Pirate King whips out from his belt to show Frederic.)
Yesterday was spent doing a little shopping and then
janabard and I walked over for lunch at a little cafe just around the corner called Cornucopia. I was very impressed--my salad was excellent (I was slightly naughty: my salad had cut-up breaded chicken on it--with hot sauce!). I think we'll visit again. Then dinner last night as per usual--very fun, had yummy soup, watched a Richard Thompson DVD, opened Christmas crackers and exchanged gifts with those what had not previously been seen.
It was SO good to sleep in today. I've been working on a sleep deficit since Christmas Day, either due to my back being out and hurty, or the kitten going off at three AM wanting to play.
Am concerned about big black kitty Arwen. The right side of her face, just to the right of her nose, looks all puffed-up. Suspect a claw might be to blame and it's infected but I'm not sure what to do. :( I'll definitely be keeping my eye on her.
Since I'll probably not post again today, HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Ooh, coffee is ready.

This does not bode well
Dec. 21st, 2006 10:25 amI almost tripped myself on my own pants leg walking down the stairs this morning. On my own PANTS LEG! So embarrassing. It could have been worse. I could have actually fallen down the stairs.
Listening to Patrick Stewart's "A Christmas Carol" while working. Just--amazing. I'll never forget seeing that (back in the sands of time, in '92).

Oct. 31st, 2006 07:31 pmiTunes just started playing the X-Files theme.
( This isn't as random as it sounds. )
Still, it was weird, being Halloween and all. :)

Been reading Austen, "Pride & Prejudice". And I'm enjoying it, but I'm finding that I like Austen like I like Shakespeare: performed. With both, I'm finding that I can understand the context of the language better with tone of voice and facial expressions.
Had a rather decent holiday. BBQ with friends, blowing up little firecrackers on the back porch, live hose at the ready. Drank my very last Okanagan cider (::cries::), as well as some raspberry lambic ale.
Was just feeling better when the cough returned today. Yuck.

Also, this icon begs a caption. Any suggestions?
ETA: many thanks to
kelliem for her charming wit :)
ETA2: Fixed an embarrassing typo, and spruced up the text colours (I shouldn't caption icons that early in the morning).
