WOW. I don't think they could have done a better job of tying up the finale. Jim's expression when she told him she was still marrying Roy was PRICELESS.
And then she doesn't marry Roy. My jaw hit the floor when they cut to Pam's bare hand. (I liked the way Roy's hand was cleverly hidden behind the flowers on the desk prior to that.) Her own apartment! And ART CLASSES! And how Roy hit rock bottom (that DUI picture was morbidly funny) and vows to win her back. I actually felt bad for him for a second or two.
And Jim in Stamford with a bunch of sticks-in-the-mud! That woman making fun of Jim's wry face: die! The angry reaction of that dickwad that calls him "Big Tuna" (or whatever that ridiculous nickname was) to the calculator in Jello -- they just don't get him. It really seemed like Pam and Jim have not spoken since May. (I wonder if Jim knows she didn't go through with it?!)
It was all the little things... Pam turning to Ryan during the meeting expecting to share a laugh with him and Ryan going WTF, hitting home to her that he's NOT Jim... then Jim in the diversity training, looking to the empty seat beside him and very definitely missing Pam.
OMG, the Gaydar stuff. Despite what Dwight says, he's lost without his arch enemy. The box at the end -- Pam riveted to for every second -- was pure Jim.
The Michael scenes did make me squirm, but they usually do. When he started to cry at the end, it hit me that Michael really is a simpleton, that what he does and what he says has good intentions, despite the effect his actions and words have.
(Does this mean that Oscar is going to be gone for 3 months? Hm. His bit in the very last scene cracked me the hell up.)
I'm sure I'll think of other things & will update to include. Bu tin a nutshell: A1, excellent. I laughed, I cried, it was better than "Cats".
