peppermintesseI was recently referred to a lj page of a Canadian spoken word artist / musician that I've been fond of for a great number of years, and left a comment there. Later, I plan to send a short email to a favourite author of mine, whose book I just finished reading, to tell her how much I liked it especially after just reading a book on the same subject from another point of view a la Rashomon.
It's cool how the internet can blur the line between famous and fan in such awesome ways.

Tired. Work has been hellish. Recently a change in requirements meant that anyone who ever incurred a credit ding got a letter entitled "Notice of Intent to Report…". Even if it occurred, like, 2 years ago. So people are freaked, because intent equals 'something that hasn't happened yet but will'. Poorly worded, and they're understandably wigged out. And when I left at 5, there were still about 390 calls waiting in the queue. Jeebus.
But I got my secret Santa present today, and it's a box of low carb chocolate cake mix, low carb lemon cookie bake mix, and sugar free chocolate covered peanuts! Totally made my day.
