Okay... as long as it works, I am NOT complaining
The previously non-working, non-writing Superdrive is not only reading discs again, but burning again, and burning 4G+ in under an hour at 1x speed (it was taking the supposed 4x burner longer than that).
What led me to this epiphany is that last night, while I was watching a video DVD my dad sent me of my sister's kidlets, I noticed that the audio was very jittery. (Their voices sounded the way that you sound when you talk into a box fan. I know you know what I'm talking about. :) ) On a whim, I popped the disc out and popped it into the Superdrive and it not only knew where I'd left off (which I thought was awesome!) but it played flawlessly.
Thank you, Computer Deities — now I can get this 16G of MST3K off of my HD. :)
