The end?

Read the so-called final installment of the BJD columns and I have to say... spoilers )

This is far more satisfying: Bridget Jones: This time I really have changed. Missing punctuation marks and all. As are these pictures.

Yes, both BJD-related. Sue me.

1.) OMG, it's Mr Bingley! )

2.) I realized today that in a clever "Shawn from Wallace & Gromit: A Close Shave" sort of way that in an English accent, "Mark" almost sounds like "Mock". No idea if that was done on purpose. Har har har. ETA: as in "Mock Darcy". As in false Mr Darcy. *crickets chirp* Well, I was amused, anyway.

The Return of Bridget Jones: new columns by Helen Fielding.

It's like Christmas morning! :D

ETA: Dammit, it's too funny to read at work. I can't be laughing and have my phone ring.

ETA2: I couldn't help myself. Had to read. So weird to see such recent references, like the Thames Whale. As for the storyline: GAH! (How sad and pathetic am I to volunteer cleaning up the code for the webmaster?)

I have sucked [ profile] grian_ruadh into reading Bridget Jones' Diary and she is at her desk cackling madly...
peppermintesse: (Mark Darcy)
So I finished Bridget Jones' Diary at work today and I hadn't realized how much they'd rearranged and changed for the movie. Mind you, I like the movie ending a lot more (same net result, just better execution IMO) and the changes that were made helped to bring focus. (Still think the book is funny as all hell, though.)

Holy carp

It says 23°F outside (-5°C) on the weather widget, and I have to work today from 9am - 2pm. Today would be a great day to burrow down inside one's bed with the heated mattress pad turned way up. Alas, it is not to be.

Had a productive night last night. After getting assistance from the Mac Guru, Avery (i.e. he installed the new hard drive into the iBook), I got OS X Panther all nice and reinstalled onto it. So the iBook goes from 6G to 40G. I remember when 6G was more than one could ever use -- hell, I remember when 2G was spacious as hell -- but now the OS takes over 2G all on its own. I created two partitions so that the second partition could be used as the Startup Disk to run Disk Doctor and Speed Disk on the primary. Jerry (who had purchased the iBook off of me and who had left it with me to try to fix it) will be very happy.

And while I did this, I watched Bridget Jones' Diary. Again.
